This week we chat with singer/songwriter Tay Jardine of We Are The In Crowd and Sainte. Tay tells us about growing up in the music scene in Poughkeepsie, how her band WATIC was first discovered and signed to Hopeless Records, reminiscing about her time touring in the Philippines, starting her new project Sainte, upcoming plans for both of her projects, and so much more. Zoë Badwi began her music career as one third of girl band Sirens before embarking on a solo career that has so far spawned several club chart-topping anthems. She joined girl group trio Sirens, who scored two hits, “Like Fire, Like Rain” and a cover version of the Pointer Sisters’ “I’m So Excited” before disbanding in 2001. Badwi continued to write and perform, and was later spotted fronting band, Black Dogs. Performing at a Melbourne club, electronic duo TV Rock’s Grant Smillie, was so impressed by her vocals that he invited her to work with him. After signing to Neon Records, her debut solo single, “Release Me,” was nominated for Best Dance Release at the 2009 ARIA Award and APRA awards. It was followed by Top Ten single “Freefallin’.” She secured a U.S. deal with Atlantic Records and began work on her debut album and tours the world performing, including touring with Little Mix.
This week, the dudes talk to Chris Swinney from That One Time On Tour Podcast…Chris was formerly in The Ataris and is currently in a new band called Fire Sale (New Single OUT NOW!). “Chris and I reconnected doing a song for the project Just Like Them, who get various peeps to cover Descendants and ALL covers. I saw his name come up as the guitarist, and I was like, ‘HEY, I was supposed to be on his podcast before COVID hit,” Jaret Recalls. “So I hit him up and did an episode and this dude rules! Glad to have him talking about his family and career here!” This episode goes all different directions, but just wait until you hear his experiences, moving his wife and new born to Jamaica! This is nutty!!!
