Hey Monday fans rejoice, Cassadee Pope is back! Fans have long awaited Pope’s return to pop-punk after her band Hey Monday called it quits in December 2011 following the re-release of the group’s sophomore EP Candles earlier that year. Following their split, Pope had a storied career in country music after she took home a victory title for The Voice season 3 and even briefly reunited with Hey Monday in 2019 for a Nashville hometown show. This week we chat to country singer/songwriter, Cassadee Pope! We chat about her Warped Tour days with Jess, working with Blake Shelton on the NBC’s The Voice, being signed to a major label to releasing independently, being nominated for a Grammy, and her pop punk roots with her band Hey Monday.

Emily Shackelton is a songwriter from Biwabik, Minnesota. After studying at Berklee College of Music, where she won the coveted BMI John Lennon Songwriting Competition, Emily moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting.
Her catalog includes cuts by Reba McEntire, Sara Evans, Jana Kramer, David Cook, Seth Ennis, Mickey Guyton, and Cassadee Pope. She has had several songs featured on TV shows like American Idol and ABC’s Nashville including “Love Like Mine”, sung by Hayden Panettiere and featured on the gold-selling season one soundtrack. Most recently she celebrated her first Number 1 with the Carly Pearce breakout single “Every Little Thing.” She recently signed a new co-venture with Liz Rose Music, busbee, and BMG.
