Nickelback Heads To Europe


Having completed its biggest tour in its home country of Canada, Nickelback now heads to Europe this week to spread the word about its second album, Silver Side Up. The Vancouver rockers begin a 10-show trek beginning Wednesday (February 12) in London, with shows scheduled in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Nickelback Sued By Former Management For Breach Of Contract


Nickelback’s former management company, Amar Management, filed a breach of contract suit against the band in the Supreme Court of British Columbia in Canada. The suit, filed on January 25, contends that Nickelback wrongfully terminated the contract and has failed to pay the management company commissions, disbursements, and various other fees as a result of services rendered. The band allegedly signed a contract with Amar Management in 1996 and worked with the company through two independent albums and its first Roadrunner Records release, The State. Paul McCartney is hitting the long and winding road again for the first time in nearly 10 years. Elton John has signed on to perform at the NBA’s All-Star Game in Philadelphia next month. John will first play “Philadelphia Freedom” as the 2002 All-Stars take the floor at the First Union Center as part of specially choreographed introductions before tip-off. Nickelback Gets Side-Swiped On Canadian Trek


Nickelback is continuing its tour of Canada, after one of its equipment trucks was involved in an accident on Tuesday (January 22). The band was en route to Victoria when a semi transporting logs clipped the second of Nickelback’s trucks, which was filled with the band’s gear. The driver of the semi had fallen asleep. When he woke, he swerved to miss the band’s first equipment truck, and then smashed into Nickelback’s second truck, taking out its rear view mirror and windshield.
