Jimmy Eat World Headlining Dates Surface


The pieces of Jimmy Eat World’s summer headlining tour are starting to come together, if very slowly, with eight new shows being scheduled over the next three months. Dates take the Arizona group to Canada, the Midwest, and Northeast, the earliest of these being June 19 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, according to the group’s website (jimmyeatworld.com). Opening acts will include the Promise Ring, Recover, and Desaparecidos. Default Takes Time Off After Cancellation Of Creed Tour


The members of Default have suddenly found themselves with downtime due to the cancellation of their tour with headliners Creed after a car accident injured Creed frontman Scott Stapp last week. “The band is getting some time off, which is a good thing,” says a spokesperson for Default. Judging by the number of cars bearing Canada license plates around Michigan State University’s Breslin Center on Tuesday, it was clear that Vancouver’s Nickelback were going to feel right at home. Nickelback, Krall Top Juno Awards


Chart-topping modern rock act Nickelback and jazz pianist/vocalist Diana Krall snared three trophies each at Canada’s Juno Awards last night (April 14) in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Nickelback grabbed Junos for best group, best single for “How You Remind Me” and best rock album for “Silver Side Up” (Roadrunner).
