A.F.I. is on the road in support of its latest and most successful effort Sing The Sorrow. The band has a rare off day this Sunday (May 11) which is Mother’s Day. A day after the body of Drowning Pool frontman Dave Williams was discovered on the band’s tour bus, details remained scarce but memories of Williams as a fun-loving, kind-hearted character abounded. The 30-year-old singer was found in his bunk by members of Drowning Pool’s touring crew Wednesday afternoon, their publicist said. The band was in Manassas, Virginia, on its way to Thursday’s Ozzfest show in Bristow. An autopsy conducted Thursday morning proved inconclusive, according to a Prince William County police spokesperson. The Rolling Stones are staying relatively quiet about the death of longtime road-crew member Royden Walter “Chuch” Magee III during tour rehearsals last week. However, the group has moved its operations away from the scene of his passing. In a brief posting in the news section of the band’s official website ( rollingstones.com), the Stones stated that they “are deeply saddened” by Magee’s death. For once, Eminem can breathe easy when he hears that people are rallying to have a rapper’s album banned. The usually lovable Nelly – who is dropping Nellyville on June 25 – has made an enemy of KRS-One, and the Blastmaster is calling for a boycott of the rapper’s album. “Nelly challenged a sovereign power,” KRS said Wednesday of his latest vocal adversary. “The MC part of it, I can slap him around for days. With the passing of Layne Staley, those who knew him best remember him as deeply troubled yet immensely talented.
