Maggie Lindemann is beginning 2024 with a bang on her new track and accompanying “hostage” music video. Preceded by 2022’s debut LP SUCKERPUNCH and one-off 2023 single “deprecating” with Siiickbrain, a new era is emerging featuring the Dallas singer’s dark and twisted lyrics and imagery. Reminiscent of Flyleaf and Evanescene instrumental tones, Lindemann breathily and mournfully sings, “These thoughts fill my mind/Bring me down one more time/In my head and it drives me crazy/I’m hostage, baby.” Lindemann shares, “‘hostage,’ for me, is like peering through a window into my own mind. It’s about being caught in this strange limbo where… Read more »
Looks like we’ll be hearing from Jordan Fish sooner than expected in the metalcore scene. He’s linking up with powerhouse Spiritbox as they work on new music. This was revealed after guitarist Mike Stringer of the three-piece posted on his Instagram stories of a studio mixing-board with Fish sitting behind it. Last month, Bring Me The Horizon announced that they were parting ways with the keyboardist/percussionist. The band wrote on their Twitter post, “We want to thank him for the musical journey he took with us and wish him luck with everything in the future.” Since then, fans have wondered… Read more »

I’ve wanted to share something like this for a long time now. It’s been headline to… Read more »

Launching into the new year with a potential contender for the ultimate breakup anthem of 2024, LØLØ unveils her latest offering, the fierce and unapologetic “2 of us.” The song, which follows her December release “*snow in berlin*,” draws inspiration from LØLØ‘s own journey of emancipating herself from a past partner whose presence only added toxicity to her life. Navigating the emotional spectrum from the revelation of “still texting your ex” to the vulnerable act of drunk-dialing “7 times,” “2 of us” ignites with a fervent energy. LØLØ‘s dynamic blend of pop sensibility and powerful vocal delivery complements the track,… Read more »
Acting as the fourth single following “Lesser Gods,” “Seeker (Stretch The Night),” and “In The House Of Leaves,” “Gaps In The Armoire” arrives through an array of intricately plucked acoustic strings. Dallon Weekes is dancing into the new year with I Don’t Know How But They Found Me’s latest single, “Infatuation.” This comes ahead of their upcoming sophomore album, GLOOM DIVISION, which is set to release on February 23 via Concord Records. The companion video for the new iDKHOW track exudes a creepy, mirror-house vibe that elevates the initial lyrics to create an eerie, devotional message. A boppy introduction to the song draws a parallel to a nostalgic reminiscence of the 2010s indie-sleaze sound that has been on the comeback. The opening lyrics, “I need you now/But it’s infatuation/Love is my… Read more »
Orange County’s own melodic metalcore quartet, Dayseeker, just launched a brand-new music video for their track “Dreamstate.” The song comes from their 2022 LP Dark Sun, which featured fellow singles “Without Me” and “Crying While You’re Dancing.” The gray-hued, garage-themed music video follows a deeply personal struggle with grief for vocalist Rory Rodriguez. “Your soul departed, the sky turned blue/But when I’m sleeping, I talk with you,” he sings mournfully over equally bittersweet guitar rhythms. Check out the new video below. “‘Dreamstate’ is about vivid dreams I had of my father after he passed,” shares Rodriguez. “There were truly times it… Read more »

In 2015, Frank Zummo joined Sum 41. Since taking over on drums for the storied group, they’ve released two full-length albums and are gearing up to drop their final double album, Heaven :x: Hell, out March 29 via Rise Records. The ending of Sum 41 is a weird thought. Anyone who grew up on pop-punk knows the band’s legendary status, and their active presence will be missed, but I’m excited to see what the guys decide to pursue once their final tour wraps up later this year. Zummo has always been involved in a variety of cool projects that I’ve… Read more »
