Destiny's Child Remix Album Includes Bonus Track


Destiny’s Child is scheduled to release This Is The Remix March 12 on Columbia Records. The album comprises 13 songs, including various mixes of the group’s hit records, as well as a bonus track from Michelle Williams’s forthcoming gospel album. The album includes remixes from Wyclef (“No, No, No Part 2,” and “Bug A Boo”), the Neptunes (“Emotion”), Timbaland (“Say My Name”), and Jermaine Dupri (“Jumpin’, Jumpin’”), among others. “Heard A Word,” from Williams’s gospel debut, From My Heart To Yours, due out April 2, is also featured on the album. R&B singer Mary J. Blige recently told AP that she and her boyfriend got engaged during the holiday season. Blige had been romantically linked to singers K-Ci Hailey and Case in the past, and she hasn’t set a date for the wedding, but promises that it will be a small private affair. Blige, who recently celebrated her 31st birthday, has never been married and has no children. Pop Stars Pepper New Teen Flick


Pop music fans will want to pick up a copy of “Longshot,” due March 26 on DVD from Spartan Home Entertainment. The film features cameo appearances by some of the biggest names in teen pop, including Britney Spears, ‘N Sync, O-Town, and LFO, among others. The film was produced by Trans Continental Pictures, a company owned by Louis Pearlman, the man who launched the careers of the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync, among others. New Green Day, Eve 6, Mystikal On 'New Guy' Soundtrack


New material from Mystikal, Juvenile, Green Day, Eve 6 and others will surface next month on the soundtrack to the comedy “The New Guy.” Mystikal wrote the title song for the movie, which stars DJ Qualls (“Road Trip”) and Eddie Griffin (“Double Take”) and features cameos from several artists, including Tommy Lee, Jermaine Dupri, Henry Rollins and Kool Moe Dee. OPM and Rehab also wrote songs especially for “The New Guy,” according to an Epic Records spokesperson. Billy Joel and Elton John are back together in the new year for the continuation of the pair’s magical “Face To Face” performances kicking off on Sunday, January 13th in Washington, DC at the MCI Center. Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins Admits Drugs Led To Hospitalization


Five months after being hospitalized for what was called an “overindulgence,” Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins is healthy, happy and making music with his bandmates once again. The 29-year-old drummer was hospitalized in the U.K. in August for a health crisis that led to the cancellation of the Foo Fighters’ European tour (see “Foo Fighters’ Drummer Hospitalized; European Tour Canceled”). Sheryl Crow Gets More Friends


The track listing for Sheryl Crow’s follow-up to 1998’s The Globe Sessions has been firmed up, and the album is now slated for March. Crow spent time in New York City last year working on the record, popping up for star-studded surprise gigs that included appearances by the likes of Keith Richards, Stevie Nicks, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kid Rock. Creed again has weathered the January sales drought, moving almost 166,000 copies of its Wind-up disc “Weathered” to stay atop the nation’s sales chart for the seventh week in a row. And the seven Grammy nominations India.Arie received Friday put her “Acoustic Soul” (Motown) disc back in the top 200 at No. 139 on sales of 11,000, according to SoundScan information issued Sunday. STP's Weiland Ordered To Attend Counseling After Guilty Plea


Scott Weiland pleaded guilty to domestic battery in Las Vegas Justice Court Wednesday and was ordered to attend 26 counseling sessions. Judge Douglas Smith approved a plea bargain that will dismiss the case against the Stone Temple Pilots singer in six months if the counseling sessions are completed and there are no further incidents. Weiland was arrested in November at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for allegedly grabbing his wife’s arms and pushing her against the wall several times.
