Paramore is kicking off March with a brand-new video for their This Is Why track “Thick Skull.” The breezy, indie song’s visuals continue the story first started on “This Is Why.” At the end of the initial video, Hayley Williams is seen smearing red lipstick all over her face and staring at herself in the mirror. The “Thick Skull” music video opens up in the same setting as Williams solemnly sings, “I am a magnet for broken pieces/I am attracted to broken people.” Similar to “This Is Why,” this video is also directed by none other than Turnstile‘s lead vocalist… Read more »

From Myspace scene kid to gothic gentleman, Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides has lived more aesthetic lives than a Sims character with cheat codes, including under his previous moniker Andy Sixx and under his solo work as Andy Black. Across two decades, he’s been a Warped Tour vampire, a bleach-blonde, a cinematic solo artist, an awards-show meme, and even a blood-soaked antihero straight out of a rock opera. Some eras were short-lived (justice for blue streak Andy), others defined entire Hot Topic walls—but every version proved the same thing: Andy fully commits to every aesthetic he touches. It’s only a matter of time before My Chemical Romance—the band that rewrote the DNA of emo for an entire generation clad in black suits and red ties—gets the Hollywood treatment. At least we freaking hope so! With the success of the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody and the Oscar-nominated A Complete Unknown, we can’t help but imagine what an MCR movie would look like: the eyeliner, the concept albums, the trauma, the triumph. Or perhaps, a post-apocalyptic afterlife centered around The Black Parade, with The Patient as the lead character and the band themselves driving the story forward through musical performances.… Read more »
