Softcult return on this beautiful December morning to gift fans with a brand new song, “Heaven.” A classically shoegaze-drenched tune, the duo comprised of twins Mercedes and Phoenix Arn-Horn add exciting elements of grunge rock and alternative indie into parts of the effort. Carried by gloomy verses and restrained vocals, the instrumentation explodes into something more cacophonous in the chorus. Drummer extraordinaire Jay Weinberg made his first appearance onstage following parting ways with Slipknot in early November. Though the split was met with surprise by the artist and longtime fans alike, Weinberg has stayed positive and grateful for each person he’s met along the way. Today, the Stump-produced original motion picture soundtrack for Merry Little Batman is officially out in the world. This soundtrack is preceded by his work on Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Black Friday (2021), Spell (2019), and beyond. We had an awesome chat with independent artist Marieme. She has been so creative in the way she releases music and gains traction! It’s a fascinating listen! Marieme explains how she got signed to Universal publishing, getting an Apple placement, going viral in Brazil thanks to some clever marketing, being 3D scanned so she can perform in the metaverse as well as growing up in a household in Africa whereby she was banned from music!
The nerds start out a bit on the ranty side, and agree that all you need is love (and some monies) to grow top shelf weed, and wonder why it’s so different from state to state now that it’s regulated–why wouldn’t it be more consistent?
