BMG Entertainment’s Buddha Records and digital rights management (DRM) specialist Digital World Services announced today the launch of a secure digital downloads offering as part of the label’s Black Anthology Web site (www.blackanthology.com). Recording academy to settle sex abuse claim


The board of the academy that presents the Grammys, the music industry’s highest honors, has approved a $650,000 payment to settle claims that its chief executive sexually assaulted and physically abused a female employee, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday. Online music services firm Liquid Audio Inc. said on Wednesday it would consider an unsolicited offer from a dissident investor to buy the company for almost $68 million in cash, setting the stage for a potential auction of the struggling firm. Music's Grammy Awards set for Los Angeles


The Grammy Awards, the top honors in the music industry, will take place in Los Angeles next year, the city’s mayor said Wednesday, even as organizers wonder how to announce the winners of the Latin Grammys, which were canceled following the Sept. 11 attacks. “In keeping with tradition, the City of Los Angeles is looking forward to hosting the Grammys for the fourth consecutive year,” Mayor Jim Hahn said in a statement. Pink Floyd Offer "Best"


Echoes, Pink Floyd’s long-awaited “best of” compilation, will hit stores November 6th. The album will include twenty-seven of Floyd’s classic tracks – over 140 minutes of music – mixed together into a single piece.
