Australian rock trio Silverchair has pushed back the North American release date of its Atlantic Records debut “Diorama” to Aug. 27. The album was originally slated to be released July 9, but singer/guitarist Daniel Johns’ battle with reactive arthritis – which is preventing him from participating in promotional activities – forced the label to make the move. As previously reported, the group has had to cancel a number of shows in its homeland as a result of John’s illness, the primary symptoms of which are chronic swelling of the joints resulting in impaired movement and extreme pain. The British Army has recalled 300 promotional videos featuring music by rock band Oasis after the songs were used without the band’s permission, the Ministry of Defense said on Saturday. The singles “Wonderwall” and “Hello” from the Gallagher brothers’ hit 1995 album “What’s the Story Morning Glory” were featured on the soundtrack to a video produced for the Highlanders regiment. Dee Dee Ramone, a founding member of punk pioneers the Ramones, died Wednesday night in his Hollywood home, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. The bassist was 50 Ramone (born Douglas Glenn Colvin) was found unresponsive by his wife around 8:40 p.m. She called police, and fire department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. A coroner’s office spokesperson said the case will be treated as a possible accidental drug overdose. Investigators found a syringe and other drug paraphernalia on Ramone’s kitchen counter.
