Michael Jackson To Greet Fans At Times Square Record Store


Michael Jackson will make his very first in-store appearance next week at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square. Epic Records announced Friday (November 2) that the reclusive pop superstar will appear on Wednesday at 3 p.m. to promote his recently released Invincible, which is widely expected to debut at #1 next week. Powerman 5000 Dump Doomsday


Just two weeks before its slated August 28th release date, Powerman 5000 have pulled the plug on their much-hyped third album, Anyone for Doomsday?. The group also cancelled their forthcoming tour with Machine Head, Saliva and Stereomud, a five-week trek that was to begin September 6th in Kansas City, Missouri. Tower Records Puts Spin On Bankruptcy Speculation


Tower Records, the worldwide music, book and video retailer that began in a family drug store, is downplaying the possibility it may have to file for bankruptcy because of tightening credit. “We have no present intention to file bankruptcy,” company spokeswoman Louise Solomon said Friday, two days after Moody’s Investors Service downgraded Tower’s debt ratings. Moody’s said it was likely that Tower would file for bankruptcy protection if it could not find additional sources of capital or pay off its current loans in the next few months.
