Fresh off a stint on the Big Day Out tour of Australia and New Zealand, the Strokes have unveiled plans for a six-week spring outing in the United States, with an excursion to Mexico City. Dates get underway March 9 in Washington, D.C., and are confirmed through April 25 in Minneapolis, although Strokes manager Ryan Gentles told Billboard.com the tour is expected to run through May 19. Britney Spears previewed another new song this weekend, but instead of broadcasting it to a live audience, she debuted it to a Las Vegas crowd in a surprise – and steamy – performance. Spears took the stage at Rain, a nightclub within the Palms hotel-casino, at 1 a.m. Sunday morning. Clear Channel Communications Inc., a radio and concert company, said on Monday it is launching an ad-sponsored magazine for the summer concert season. The magazine, “Music Guide Live!,” will make its debut over the weekend at a few concerts and eventually be distributed in more than 30 markets during the summer at Clear Channel radio station events and amphitheaters.
