JC Chasez Hitting Clubs For First Solo Outing

JC Chasez, who headlined countless arena tours with ‘NSYNC, has scheduled something much more modest for his first solo outing.

Beginning December 3 at Spreckels in San Diego, Chasez will play a string of club shows to premiere material from his solo debut,Schizophrenic.

“I’m going to grass-roots this thing,” the singer said. “To me, I’m at the beginning again and I don’t want to take [everything] for granted and say I’m too big for that. I actually want to earn my way up.”

JC’s itinerary currently includes five shows, although more may be added.

“There’s just something about [club] shows,” he said. “I feel like I really have to get in a room like that. My big thing is I just want good vibes. I know I got to do business, but I don’t want to be overly corporate. I’m going for something that feels organic and solid and real.”

Chasez will take care of a little business as well, participating in some radio station-sponsored holiday shows, including Y100’s Jingle Ball in Sunrise, Florida, on December 14; and making a few television appearances, most notably the American Music Awards on Sunday and the Billboard Awards on December 10.

Schizophrenic, which includes production from Basement Jaxx, BT and Rockwilder, among others, is due January 27. The album’s first single and video, “Some Girls (Dance With Women),” will debut later this month. “The song was written as an observation, in a joking style, but a sexy style, as well,” Chasez explained.
