McCartney, Others To Stage NY Benefit Show


Paul McCartney, The Who, Macy Gray and a host of other performers are scheduled to stage a concert on Oct. 20 in New York to benefit victims and rescue workers from the attacks on the World Trade Center, organizers said Thursday. “The Concert For New York,” to be held at Madison Square Garden, will also be televised live on VH1. Britney Spears will release her 3rd album, Britney on November 6 worldwide. The first single, “I’m A Slave 4 U,” will impact CHR and Rhythm Crossover radio on September 24. The song was written and produced by The Neptunes. The video, directed by Frances Lawrence, will debut on MTV’s Making The Video on September 24. With lower Manhattan cut off to civilian traffic after Tuesday’s terrorist assault on the World Trade Center, officials at independent music magazine publisher CMJ decided to put off for a month its annual Music Marathon & Film Fest, which was to have started Thursday. Revolution Rolls With Skater Hawk


Revolution Studios has acquired an untitled comedy pitch that will star Tony Hawk, arguably the most influential skateboarder of all time. Hawk will also executive produce the project alongside producers Mark Ciardi, Gordon Gray, Ed Decter and John Strauss, the quartet behind Revolution’s upcoming Decter-directed feature “The New Guy,” which features Hawk playing himself. Clear Channel Realigns Radio Division


Clear Channel Radio president and chief operating officer John Hogan today announced a sweeping realignment of the radio division that becomes effective immediately. Clear Channel Radio has established eight geographic divisions within the United States, each under the leadership of a single senior vice president. Those eight divisions are subdivided into approximately 20 regions or “trading areas,” creating a new management tier of regional vice presidents (RVPs).
