Limp Bizkit At Center Of Investigation Into Australian Fan's Death


An Australian court is investigating the role that Limp Bizkit’s onstage actions may have played in the death of a 15-year-old fan who was crushed at the multi-band Big Day Out festival in January. An inquest by Sydney’s Glebe Coroner’s Court that began November 19 is attempting to determine the factors that contributed to Jessica Michalik’s death, and is examining statements made by Fred Durst when it became apparent that Michalik was in distress, according to Deputy Coroner Matt Fordham. Mya locked up for 'Chicago'


Singer Mya has joined Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere, Queen Latifah, Christine Baranski and John C. Reilly in Miramax Films’ musical feature “Chicago.” Mya, who has released two albums on Interscope Records since 1998, is currently in Toronto rehearsing with the rest of the cast for her supporting role in the Rob Marshall-directed film. Shooting is to start Dec. 12, with a scheduled Christmas 2002 bow. In the big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical, Mya will star as Mona, one of the cell block prisoners guilty of murder. No Doubt's ROCK STEADY Now Slated for December 11 Release


The members of No Doubt are pleased to announce that fans will have one less week to wait for the arrival of the band’s new Interscope Records album, ROCK STEADY. N.W.A. Reunion Stalled


It’s been well over a year since Dr. Dre first announced that a reunited N.W.A., with Snoop Dogg subbing for the late Eazy-E, had begun work on their first album in ten years, Not These Niggaz Again. Four members of the reformed gangsta squad – Dre, Snoop, Ice Cue and MC Ren – shared a bill on last summer’s Up in Smoke Tour, where they sketched beats and rhymes in a mobile recording studio. Mya stays slumming when picking out her girlfriends, at least on screen. After spending time with Lil’ Kim, Pink and Christina Aguilera, playing ladies of the evening in the video for “Lady Marmalade,” she’s now set to hang with a murderer. Limp Bizkit's Durst Directs Latest Puddle Of Mudd Video


Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has once again stepped behind the camera to shoot a music video. Durst directed the video for “Blurry,” the second single from Puddle Of Mudd’s major-label debut album, Come Clean. The video was shot in Los Angeles last week. DMX, Eve, And Jadakiss Ready 'Ryde Or Die Vol. 3'


Ruff Ryders, DMX, Eve, and the Lox are working on Ryde Or Die Vol. 3, their third installment to their all-star compilation effort. The remix for Jadakiss’s “We Gonna Make It” featuring Eve will be included on the album, scheduled to be released on November 20, but it is not considered to be the record’s first official single. Interscope Records is considering issuing Eve’s “You, Me, And She,” produced by Irv Gotti, as the next release. Basinger Circles Eminem Project


Academy Award winner Kim Basinger is in negotiations to star in Universal Pictures’ “The Untitled Detroit Project” for director Curtis Hanson and Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer. Shooting begins Oct. 18 in Detroit and stars multiplatinum recording artist Eminem in his first feature acting debut. The project reteams Basinger with Hanson, both of whom worked on 1998’s “L.A. Confidential,” for which Basinger won a supporting actress Oscar and Hanson earned an Oscar for adapted screenplay. Limp Bizkit plans to have something special under the tree for its fans this year. According to a post by Fred Durst on www.limpbizkit.com, the band is preparing a “tight ass” remix album and DVD, to be titled Limp Remizkit. Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, the Neptunes, Timabland, William Orbit, DJ Lethal, DJ Premiere, Durst and Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland are all slated to do remixes for the album, which will also feature guest spots by Bubba Sparxxx, 8 Ball and E40.
