Eric Bootow- Jughead’s Revenge

This week I have long time friend Eric Bootow from band Jughead’s Revenge, he also plays for hardcore legendary SoCal band Fourth In Line, and Sederra. He’s the go to bass guy in the OC for punk rock bands. I met him through Efrem Schulz of Death By Stereo and Eric was one of my first friends when I moved back to SoCal in 2003. We talk about my first time in a bar with him, and a bunch of other fun stories.

Magnolia Park Shares Bittersweet “Fell In Love On Halloween” Video

Just because we’re entering the winter holiday season doesn’t mean you can’t keep the spirit of Halloween alive. Magnolia Park is continuing on with their spooky vibes with the release of their “Fell In Love On Halloween” music video via Epitaph Records. The bittersweet music video perfectly complements the acoustic emo track, which draws parallels between The Nightmare Before Christmas‘ Jack and Sally with the song’s protagonists. “I was dressed up like Jack/Should’ve known this won’t last/Every good thing comes and goes, at least I took my chance,” frontman Joshua Roberts sings. Check out the full “Fell In Love On… Read more »

NOAHFINNCE Issues ‘Harry Potter’ Inspired “SCUMBAG” Video

NOAHFINNCE weaves a spellbinding narrative in his latest music video for “SCUMBAG,” drawing inspiration from the enchanting world of Harry Potter. The alt-artist, who initially dropped the track in October, uses this magical realm to shed light on issues of transphobia and confront TERFs (trans-exclusionary radical feminists). Evoking the nostalgia of J.K. Rowling‘s iconic book series and the subsequent film adaptations that captivated audiences in the late ’90s and early/mid-2000s, NOAHFINNCE transforms the familiar wizarding world into a canvas for his powerful message. Despite the enchantment of Harry Potter, recent statements from Rowling have shifted the narrative, prompting discussions about… Read more »

‘Tis that season for us to collectively reflect on the masterful, put-it-on-repeat albums that have dropped this year. Welcome to the Best Albums Of 2023 Vol. 2. We opted for a celebration of equality, bestowing each album with its due praise for a… Read more »

The Gavel, the Gobble, and the Grand Old Party

Let’s kick off with Donald Trump’s legal tango in Colorado, where he dances away with a court win. It’s like watching a reality show, but the stakes are actual democracy, and the drama is disappointingly real. Moving on to the Capitol, where Congress miraculously avoided a government shutdown. It’s like watching a group of toddlers successfully bake a cake – messy, surprising, and you’re just relieved the house didn’t burn down. And then, there’s Joe Biden, hitting 81. In the White House, that’s less ‘elder statesman’ and more ‘antique with experience’. It’s like your grandfather running a marathon – impressive,… Read more »

Say Anything Wrote The Most Unconventional Wedding Song Of All Time

When We Were Young Fest was packed with incredible acts this year, both legendary and brand new. However, there was one band that I was most excited to see, hands down. Say Anything has been a staple band in my life since I was 15 years old. I met my now wife when I was a sophomore in High School. Say Anything was one of the first things we bonded over. As two queer kids growing up in the South, their song “A Walk Through Hell” was an unconventional, yet perfect description our our love and perseverance for each other.… Read more »
