Napster or Not, Downloading & Sharing of Music Files Continues


A study by market-research firm Odyssey shows that 31% of online users over the age of 16 – or over 40 million U.S. consumers – report they have downloaded or transferred music online in the past six months, and they do so an average of 11 times per week. These findings were part of Odyssey’s Breadbox, a semiannual study of U.S. consumers focused on attitudes toward, and usage of, e-commerce and other retail channels. Creed Postpone Festival, Release New Single Online


First the bad news, Creed fans – your chance to play ping-pong with singer Scott Stapp isn’t going to happen this year. But the good news is that the inaugural Creedfest gathering was postponed partly because the band is putting the finishing touches on its new album, Weathered (November 20), and the disc’s soaring first single is available now via an interactive online “pager.” Creedfest was to be a multiple-day festival in Orlando, Florida, next month, providing fans an opportunity to meet the band.
