Green Day played their Coachella Weekend 2 headlining set on April 19, and they had many surprises for the day. To intro their set, Punk Bunny, aka their coffee brand mascot, ran across the stage. Then, the pink head popped off to reveal Flavor Flav. The rapper and US women’s water polo team financial supporter (and super fan), of course, shared his iconic “Yeahhhhh boy!” to get the crowd hyped for Green Day. Ah, Coachella. If you’re not there, you’re probably seeing videos of Lady Gaga‘s thrilling and five-star-reviewed headlining set, as well as clips of Yo Gabba Gabba! Did idobi Radio predict the Green Day film?! The short answer: yes and no. Last week, Tate Logan of idobi Radio posted a faux dream casting if Green Day were to ever sign off on a biopic film. In a playful casting suggestion, Logan envisioned Josh Hutcherson as Tré Cool, Jack Dylan Grazer as Billie Joe Armstrong, and Melrose Avenue drummer Jed McIntosh, who closely resembles bassist Mike Dirnt. During the 67th Grammy Awards ceremony, history was made on and off the official February 2 evening broadcast. Of course, Beyonce notably won Album Of The Year with Cowboy Carter and also became the first Black performer to win Best Country Album at the show. Green Day has officially wrapped up tour with The Linda Lindas and Rancid and is already gearing up for the holiday season. On September 30, trio Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool launched limited-edition Punk Bunny Coffee holiday flavors as well as a hot cocoa mix. The three new coffee flavors include Dookie (Dark Roast), American Idiot (Medium Roast), and Fancy Sauce (Light Roast). Currently, the limited-edition flavor pre-orders are sold out. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of American Idiot, Green Day and Keurig have teamed up to drop an exclusive limited-edition brewer and coffee kit. This isn’t the first time the band has dabbled in coffee. In 2015, the group created Punk Bunny Coffee (formerly Oakland Coffee,) where they produced organic, Fair Trade Certified coffee.
