Passion Pit’s Instagram now has two posts on it and it’s all we need to freak out a little. They posted earlier today that their 2021 album, Gossamer, is getting a revival for its 10th (actually 11th) anniversary. The album will be available on June 2 as a vinyl record; pre-sales are currently happening for the release. The best part of this re-release is that it’ll include two rare songs as well as the original 12 tracks that appeared on the collection. The first single, “American Blood,” is out now. If you haven’t heard it already, “American Blood” carries the… Read more »
When I was a young boy, my father took me into the city to see a…Yankees game? Yesterday, March 30, the New York Yankees kicked off Opening Day at Yankee Stadium against the San Francisco Giants. And with Opening Day, the Yankees organization has released a hype video with a surprise My Chemical Romance “G note.” While the video only runs for a minute and 49 seconds, the iconic 2006 My Chemical Romance track “Welcome To The Black Parade” echoes brilliantly behind the commentator. Cutting to the track’s epic third verse, fans are seen cheering while vocalist Gerard Way’s full-throated… Read more »
Demi Lovato has breathed new life into their 2013 hit single “Heart Attack” in the form of a smashing new rock experience. The electropop-infused original version was a massive success, to say the least. Peaking at number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, it was later certified quadruple platinum, selling over 2 Million copies in the United States. We can all agree that the song was a banger. With Lovato’s most recent album, HOLY FVCK, being a returning venture to their early rock-inspired roots…this new spin only makes sense. Lovato announced the new track Monday, March 20th via Instagram,… Read more »
It’s hard enough to make it in a competitive industry when you’re young. But if you’re also a person of color and/or part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, it can feel next to impossible. For Meet Me @ The Altar—a trio of young women of color, two of whom are queer—the only way around those industry hurdles is through them. “We’re the perfect mesh of like almost every single type of person in the world,” says vocalist Edith Victoria. I’m catching up with the band over Zoom, the day before their debut full-length, Past // Present // Future, is set to… Read more »
“Let go of your idols to discover the unknown. When we leave this world, have to do it on our own. Pass the torch to be born again. Searching through the discord, swallowed by your sin.” Metalcore is having somewhat of a renaissance in recent years. More and more genre-specific festivals are popping up while long-standing bands in the scene are jumping in with exciting new records. This Friday, For The Fallen Dreams put their mark on the modern era with their self-titled seventh LP. Coming from Arising Empire Records, For The Fallen Dreams boasts a classic metalcore backbone with… Read more »
We love music. We love movies. We really love when both of these worlds collide. Actors playing in bands isn’t new, from Jared Leto with 30 Seconds To Mars to Jack Black with Tenacious D. But today I want to talk about the actors you had no idea used to be or still are in bands.
When the Bamboozle Festival announced its lineup for 2023, after weeks of missed announcements and snipes at fans, the reaction was decidedly mixed.
With a new album dropping, we knew a Fall Out Boy tour was probably coming soon. We just didn’t know how incredible it would really be. The band is bringing along Bring Me the Horizon and Royal & The Serpent. On select dates you can also find Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory, Four Year Strong, The Academy Is…, Games We Play, Daisy Grenade, and Carr. The tour will kick off on June 21st in Chicago and will end on August 6th in New Jersey. Pre-sale will happen this Thursday at 10am local time and general ticket sale will happen on… Read more »
— As UK music festivals go, the Phoenix Festival doesn’t have the storied history of Glastonbury or Reading. It only ran for five years, between 1993 and ’97, but it was located pretty close to my home in the Midlands region of England when I was growing up, and so I went to the 1995 event and the two that followed. The 1996 Phoenix Festival is the festival that I judge all festivals on. So high was the bar it set, I’ve yet to see it be bettered (and I’ve attended Glastonburys, Readings, Coachellas, Riot Fests, Rocklahomas, Download/Doningtons, and more… Read more »
