Ashton Irwin, aka the drummer and vocalist from 5 Seconds Of Summer, is continuing his solo music journey. Earlier this week, the artist announced his forthcoming album BLOOD ON THE DRUMS. The wait is finally over! After a series of delays, Bring Me The Horizon has surprised fans by releasing their eagerly awaited full-length album, NeX GEn. Their latest offering marks the next chapter in the POST HUMAN: anthology and follows the release of 2020’s POST HUMAN: Survival Horror. According to several reports, including confirmation to Consequence and Pitchfork, the legendary record producer Steve Albini has passed away due to a heart attack. He was 61 years old. An iconic figure in the alternative music industry, serving as a musician, producer, audio engineer, and founder/owner of Electrical Audio recording studio in Chicago, IL, Albini was born on July 22, 1962, in Pasadena, CA. This week is my final episode here on Idobi Radio, I’m calling it a day to focus on more music, I may be back in the future when I have more time to do this show, but I’d like to thank everyone that’s been on the ride, and thanks to Idobi for pushing me into doing a show for them in the first place. This week I have session drummer and friend Ryland Steen, he’s been playing for the classic rock band America now for a while, and was also the drummer in Reel Big Fish, we talk about how he got a major record label deal at an early age with his band called Audiovent and how that led him to turning down playing full time with Maroon 5. We talk about what it’s like being a hired and touring drummer and his story about how he got into music.
This week I have Tour Manager and Sound Guy- Jason Lupeituu, we toured together off and on for 3 years when I was in my last project and he did sound and looked after us on the road, we talk about how he got started in this industry and how he keeps pushing through having to work for different bands and in different scenarios within his career.
