Geek Girl Riot’s got the new streaming content on lock, talking: The Sandman, Never Have I Ever, Uncoupled, The Bear, Inu-Oh, and Partner Track. Our Rioters also take a moment to pay tribute to Olivia Newton-John, Nichelle Nichols, Bill Russell, and Mary Alice.

Uncoupled
Sherin and Alex kick off the show with Uncoupled, the new queer romantic dramedy on Netflix starring Neil Patrick Harris. They share what they love about it and give you a quick intro to the fabulous cast.

Never Have I Ever S3 + Partner Track Trailer
We know y’all have been waiting impatiently for it: Never Have I Ever S3 is about to hit Netflix on Friday, so we’re here to get you ready to binge-watch. While Sherin and Alex can’t give you any spoilers about S3 (they wouldn’t dare!), they share why they can’t wait for you to see it—so be prepared to come back and chat with them once you’re ready.

They also break down the reaction to the trailer for Partner Track, an upcoming Netflix series about a Korean American lawyer who’s trying to rise to the top of her (super white) NYC law firm. Sherin and Alex tease why your first impressions might change as the series goes on.

The Sandman, The Bear, and Inu-Oh
Julian jumps on with Sherin to dive into The Sandman. With two different perspectives and comics knowledge, they talk about the storytelling and visuals, the comics and Sandman universe, and how much they’re loving it. (read Sherin’s review)

Next up is The Bear, the FX on Hulu series about a high-flying chef who returns to Chicago to take over his family’s sandwich shop. Sherin and Julian chat about what drew them to the series and why you’ll be hooked.

Sherin closes out the show with Inu-Oh, the animated rock opera set in 14th century Japan that she can’t wait for you to watch. She says, “Inu-Oh is an inventive and beautiful animated rock opera set in an alternate feudal Japan. You get drawn into the folklore and big performances that are like a Bowie show if Es Devlin designed the set. It’s incredible.”
