The Game Awards, Wonka, Doctor Who, Genie, Mr. Monk’s Last Case, Reacher
Sherin kicks off the show in a fiery way thanks to the rage burning in her heart. Julian thinks he’s more chill this week…until he starts talking about The Game Awards and its highs and surprises—and its lows and snubs. That leads them into Wonka, which they have a lot of differing opinions about (you can read Sherin’s review here). Next up Sherin talks about Genie, the new Peacock movie starring Paapa Essiedu and Melissa McCarthy that features a fresh twist on genie lore. WAFCA Awards
Sherin and Julian are members of the Washington Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA), which means they voted on the most deserving films of the 2023 WAFCA Awards. They go through the nominees and winners, comparing notes & votes.
