Geek Girl Riot is back with another trainwrecks extravaganza, before getting into the epic battle of Godzilla vs. Kong.

Trainwrecks…and we’re just getting started
Y’all, 2021 is only three months in and we’ve had ten years worth of trainwrecks already. Who can blame us when everyone’s got that lockdown loony? Well, Sherin and Alex are joined by idobi’s Aud Lew to dive into a new edition of GGR’s legendary trainwrecks. Yup, we’re talking Cinnamon Shrimp Toast, weird Medium articles, Prince William’s “new” Black friend, and NBC’s representation misfire. And that’s only the first half!

More Trainwrecks…because they just keep coming
In the second trainwrecks segment, we take on Lil Aaron’s neon green foolishness, Peeps & Pepsi’s perplexing collab, and Rupi Kaur’s all-too-vivid poetry reading. To top it all off, that insane trailer for Me You Madness has got us giggling, while the Cherokee County Sheriff’s statement about the racist shootings in Atlanta this month has got us demanding accountability and change.

Godzilla vs. Kong
Julian steps into the room to take on this week’s gigantic new cinematic release: Godzilla vs. Kong (out now on HBO Max and in theaters). Sherin says of the film: “This is an epic. The kind of big moment filled, set piece fueled, thoroughly amusing thrill ride that studios can only pull off once they’ve built up the storytelling foundation to support it. This franchise earns it.” Get into the monstrously epic action and prepare to be schooled on just a few things kaiju, courtesy of your dynamic duo (and read Julian’s review too).

“Kaiju and mecha and retina sizzling action, for people like me that’s a dopamine high.”
