Summer is a time for blockbusters, and by our calculations each two-hour-ish movie requires at least the equal amount of discussion time (and then some). But of course, we know y’all are very busy people, so we’ve packed not one, not two, but three blockbuster movie discussions into one blockbuster hour long episode of Geek Girl Riot that’s going to blow some minds. Sherin Nicole, Day Al-Mohamed, Tsuki, and Kat Bittner got together for a confab about possibly the three most anticipated films of the season: Ghostbusters, Star Trek Beyond, and Suicide Squad. Hit play to hear the GGRioters get into the nitty gritty of each film and give their verdicts, and find out why the DCEU needs to remix their directors—via a few Sherin sidebarsTM along the way. Not limited to but including: their reasoning as to why we could all have a little bit more John Cho, as Day tries to figure out what makes earl grey tea hot (aside from a kettle, that is), and the comparison of superheroes to fast food—you’ll totally be on board once you hear why.
Curious to see some of the things the GGR ladies mentioned in their confab? Check ’em out below, and let us know your thoughts of the movies they discussed on Twitter!
