The Eagles will perform during this fall’s Country Music Association Awards for the first time, a nod to the success of their new single, “How Long,” on country radio. The song is from the group’s first new studio album in 28 years, “Long Road out of Eden,” which will be released next month. VH1 is resurrecting back its “Pop Up Video” series in a mobile-only format starting Monday, the music cable network said. The original “Pop,” which stopped airing in 2002 on the Viacom-owned channel, featured music videos with informational bubbles that popped up with facts and trivia about the artists, song or related subject matter. The new installment of original videos, “Pop Up Video to Go,” will be offered cross carrier exclusively on VH1’s mobile network and will be updated weekly. Opera superstar Luciano Pavarotti, who was diagnosed with cancer last year, has been admitted to hospital in northern Italy and is in a satisfactory condition, a hospital spokesman said on Thursday. Pavarotti was hospitalized with a fever in his home town of Modena on Wednesday, the spokesman said. He is likely to be discharged in the next few days. The singer, who had surgery to remove a pancreatic tumor in July 2006, was suffering from pneumonia, a newspaper reported. Van Halen fans, get ready to “Jump.” The rockers have re-formed with original frontman David Lee Roth and will set out on a national tour beginning in October, according to a report posted Wednesday on Billboard Magazine’s Web site. In its report, the music industry trade publication said Van Halen will play 50 dates in arenas across North America. Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable” was nominated for video of the year, as was Timberlake’s ambitiously cinematic “What Goes Around … Comes Around,” which co-starred Scarlett Johansson.
