Catch Him On Tour, But On Film Dave Matthews Wants To Be Missed

Dave Matthews has plenty of things to do and places to go – what with his band regrouping for a summer tour, re-signing to RCA Records and beginning pre-production on a new album – but during his break from the DMB, the frontman pretended to be someone with no goals and nowhere to go. In Matthews’ first film role, “Because of Winn-Dixie,” he plays a drifter. “How on earth could I be a drifter?” Matthews asked. “If I didn’t have the job I have right now, if I wasn’t playing music, who knows? I could have been a scientist, but… Read more »

Ataris Ponder Effects Of Endless 'Summer'

With a new single called “The Saddest Song” starting to pop up at radio stations, the Ataris are ready to move past the monster success of “The Boys Of Summer,” their accidental hit that was never supposed to be a single in the first place. Bassist Mike Davenport revealed that he doesn’t think the Ataris will end up a one-hit wonder. “I could see how that would be with some other bands, but I think with us, our fan base is so strong that they understand it, you know,” Davenport said. “But, you know, all the kids that are just… Read more »

Her collarbone may be broken, but her spirit seems barely bruised, given Jewel’s plans to resume touring earlier than expected. She’ll return to the stage Monday for shows that looked as though they wouldn’t happen after she fell from a horse on April 24, according to an Atlantic Records spokesperson. Doctors had suggested she not perform for at least a month. The singer’s first day back in the saddle, so to speak, will be May 13 in Stuttgart, Germany. Although she’s capable of singing, she won’t be able to play guitar. Only two dates of her European tour – May… Read more »
