This summer Seattle rockers Queensryche return with the release of Tribe, the band’s first studio album on Sanctuary Records. Tribe, which will be released on July 22, 2003, follows Queensryche’s Sanctuary debut, Live Evolution, a career-spanning live collection, released in 2001. The Black Eyed Peas will be going on tour with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera beginning June 4 in Phoenix and finishing up in St. Paul on August 24. For P.O.D. this week, Youth of the Nation (the tour) had to take a backseat to “Youth of the Nation” (the song). The spiritual rap-rockers canceled a gig in Madison, Wisconsin, Wednesday and flew to Los Angeles to shoot a video for the tune, the second single from Satellite. “Youth of the Nation,” a powerful number written the day of the Santana High School shootings in the band’s hometown of San Diego earlier this year, is scheduled to hit radio and video outlets next month, according to Atlantic Records. Britney Spears’s first live, full-length HBO concert special, Britney Spears Live From Las Vegas at the MGM Grand on November 18, promises to be full of surprises. Nickelback has booked a headlining tour, which will start in Seattle on October 30 and wind down on December 11. Alice Cooper has been named the recipient of this year’s Living Legend Award from the International Horror Guild, marking the first time the Guild has reached beyond the literary world to give someone the honor. Previous winners have included authors Ray Bradbury, Harlan Ellison, and Clive Barker, among others.
