Dashboard Confessional Sets Fall Tour


Alternative rock outfit Dashboard Confessional has unveiled plans for a fall tour, beginning Aug. 30 in Pittsburgh and wrapping Oct. 7 in St. Paul, Minn. The Chris Carrabba-led band will be touring in support of its upcoming Vagrant album, “A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar,” due Aug. 12. The first single, “Hands Down,” is now available for paid download from Apple’s iTunes Music Store. A Perfect Circle Take New Step


Maynard James Keenan will keep Tool in the shed for at least another few months, as the oddball frontman’s other band A Perfect Circle releases Thirteenth Step on September 16th. Since the release of its debut album, Mer de Noms, three years ago, A Perfect Circle has had a few chairs vacated and filled. Out are guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and bassist Paz Lenchantin (who joined Billy Corgan’s new band, Zwan). MxPx Do "Everything" New


MxPx will release Before Everything and After, their first album in three years, on August 19th. Dashboard Hit the Road


A week after backing out of opening duties for Beck’s summer tour, Dashboard Confessional have lined up a sixteen-date headlining outing to launch August 30th in Pittsburgh. The band will be previewing its third studio album, A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar (due August 12th), along the way. Ozzfest Bands To Divide And Conquer On Off Days

Reel Big Fish and their friend and drummer for the past 4 years, Carlos De La Garza, have parted ways. The split is an amicable one as De La Garza has opted to pursue other things and spend more time with his wife and family. Just a month after opening its doors, the Apple iTunes store is looking to expand. With content already available from all five major labels, the online music service is reaching out to independent labels in hopes of offering the broadest, deepest catalog of downloadable music. Plug Pulled On Beastie Boys/ Radiohead Field Day Festival


Officials in Suffolk County, New York, have denied a mass gathering permit for the June 7-8 Field Day Music Festival, but the Beastie Boys, Beck, Radiohead, N.E.R.D. and more than a dozen other acts are hoping last-minute negotiations can save the concert. On Tuesday (May 27), health officials nixed the permit after Riverhead Police Chief David Hegermiller announced that his department wouldn’t be able to safely patrol the concert, which is expected to draw 50,000 people to Suffolk County’s Calverton Enterprise Park.
