Thai fans of the Calling were surprised to discover the pop group canceled Thursday’s show, though they couldn’t have been more shocked than lead guitarist Aaron Kamin. Kamin was almost electrocuted during soundcheck at Bangkok’s Brew Pavilion Thursday night (April 4), according to an RCA spokesperson. He was treated at a local hospital and released and is now nursing burns to his hands. The band plans to reschedule the show in the Thai capital. Mary J. Blige is bringing in the dollars as part of her current concert swing. The R&B star’s appearance at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles is among the top grossing concerts as compiled by Amusement Business. The show, which was opened by Avant, took in close to $520,000, good for 10th on the list. Guns N’ Roses have canceled their entire European tour, which was to kick off June 1 at the Rock Im Park festival in Nurnberg, Germany. Guitarist Buckethead has suffered hemorrhaging and has missed rehearsals, according to Helter Skelter, the band’s European management agency. Doctors have been unable to determine the hemorrhaging’s cause, though the guitarist is going through extensive testing in California. The Canadian pop singer will begin a 12-country tour of European festivals, arenas and clubs in Nuremberg, Germany on June 1, which also happens to be her 27th birthday.
