Brian Graden Named President Entertainment, MTV and VH1


Judy McGrath, President, MTV Networks Music Group, today announced that Brian Graden will take on additional programming, production, and development responsibilities for VH1, becoming President Entertainment, MTV and VH1. Graden will report to Judy McGrath in this expanded role at VH1 and will partner with Christina Norman, just named General Manager of VH1. Detroit Officials Sue Dr. Dre Over Up In Smoke Tour DVD


Dr. Dre and others affiliated with a DVD recorded during 2000’s Up in Smoke Tour were hit with an invasion of privacy lawsuit Wednesday from several existing and former Detroit city officials who claim they were secretly filmed. Greg Bowens, former press secretary for former Mayor Dennis Archer, Detroit Recreation Department official Phillip Talbert and three Detroit Police officers allege that hidden cameras illegally captured a private conversation backstage at Joe Louis Arena about an explicit video the officials banned from Detroit and nearby Auburn Hills shows. Cowboy Junkies 'Open' Up For Tour, DVD


Canadian rock outfit Cowboy Junkies has lined up a 26-date spring tour and finalized details for its first DVD, a companion to last year’s Zoe Records release “Open.” The tour kicks off May 9 in Detroit and wraps Aug. 7 in Peterborough, Ontario. A couple of low-key dates at California wineries are sprinkled throughout, as well as a number of festival appearances. Pink Inks Marketing Agreement With Bally Total Fitness


Pink has signed a marketing agreement with health-and-fitness service provider Bally Total Fitness. The terms of the agreement call for a creative collaboration between the singer and Bally on a new hip-hop dance aerobics class called Get Your Body Started, and a national dance competition.
