Time stands still for Hempfield teen in lockup


A Hempfield Area High School sophomore spent 12 days in juvenile detention after authorities in Westmoreland County mistakenly charged him with making a March 11 bomb threat, in part because the district had not changed its clocks to reflect daylight-saving time. Cody Webb, 15, of Hempfield, was arrested March 12 and charged with a felony count of threatening to use weapons of mass destruction and misdemeanor counts of making false alarms to public entities, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and making terrorist threats. Last winter, Vans Warped tour founder Kevin Lyman attended the Consumer Electronics Show to learn more about setting up backstage wireless Internet connections. FCC Urges Maximum Fine for Explicit Radio Show


The Federal Communications Commission said on Friday that Clear Channel Communications Inc. should pay the maximum penalty of nearly $250,000 for airing a sexually explicit radio broadcast. Clear Channel, the nation’s largest radio-station owner, should pay $247,500 – the maximum indecency fine allowable by law – for an episode of “Elliot in the Morning” that aired on stations in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Delaware, the FCC said. Eve 6 Singer Fined For Nude Escapade


Max Collins, the lead singer for Eve 6, plead guilty on Tuesday (June 3) in front of a Pittsburgh area district justice, to two counts of disorderly conduct in relation to a recent nude escapade, reported the Associated Press. Collins was forced to pay $400 in fines and $114 in court costs, after plea bargaining down initial charges of indecent exposure, for walking around a hotel with nothing but shaving cream on his genitals. Marilyn Manson Court Date Moved To December


Marilyn Manson is hoping that Pearl Harbor Day doesn’t lead to an ambush for him in Michigan courts. The shock rocker’s hearing on charges of criminal sexual conduct and assault-and-battery, which were scheduled to be heard on Friday (November 9), has been moved to the morning of December 7 at the request of his attorneys.
