Although the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has chosen to celebrate its rebel heroes with a black-tie dinner at the Waldorf Astoria hotel, the anarchic spirit of the form still permeated the air as the class of 2001 was inducted Monday night. Aerosmith To Play With Kid Rock At Hall Of Fame Ceremony


When Kid Rock inducts never-say-die rockers Aerosmith into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday, “Sweet Emotion” will be doubly apt in describing the scenario. Not only are Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer elated to be receiving such an honor, the group will perform its 1975 single with the rap-rocker at the induction ceremony, Perry, a self-confessed Rock-head, said Friday (March 16). Dave Matthews Band Leaves Aerosmith Jaded


Dave Matthews Band’s “Everyday” holds at No. 1 atop the Billboard 200 chart, beating a strong debut by veteran rockers Aerosmith. DMB’s RCA release “Everyday,” which was co-written and produced by Glen Ballard, sold 280,075 units, more than a 60% drop from the previous week’s debut sales, according to SoundScan figures obtained from industry sources for the week ending March 11. Aerosmith’s “Just Push Play” (Columbia) sold 240,475 copies to bow at No. 2. Shaggy’s “Hotshot” moves down one notch to No. 3 on 235,275 units sold.
