Spears Says She, Timberlake Were Lovers

After years of saying she’d wait until she was married to lose her virginity, Britney Spears is acknowledging that she had sex with her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. “I’ve only slept with one person my whole life,” the pop star tells W magazine for its August issue. “It was two years into my relationship with Justin, and I thought he was the one,” she pauses, then adds, “But I was wrong! I didn’t think he was gonna go on Barbara Walters and sell me out.” Spears, 21, and Timberlake, the 22-year-old ‘N Sync singer, met as kids while performing on TV’s… Read more »

It features “Paranoid Android,” “Fake Plastic Trees,” and “Karma Police,” among other clips. Greenwood was asked if he had different thoughts on the videos now that he’s got some distance from when the videos were first released in the ’90s. He said he’s always trusted video directors. “It’s always good to work with directors with strong visions whose work you like, and who you really want to work on… Read more »

Justin Promises Spectacle, Special Guests On Christina Tour

It’s not entirely official, but it looks like Justin Timberlake’s contribution to this summer’s soundtrack will be Justified’s steamy opening track, “Senorita.” “When I heard [the music] I felt this groovy summer thing,” the singer said Tuesday (May 20), beatboxing the Neptunes beat. So for the lyrics Timberlake crafted a summer tale, creating the subject in his head rather than basing it on his own life, like he did with “Cry Me a River.” “On that sunny day/ Didn’t know I’d meet,” he sings in the opening verse. “Such a beautiful girl/ Walking down the street/ Seen those bright brown… Read more »

They’re the first Russian pop sensation to top music charts worldwide, but Moscow police weren’t having any of it. Authorities barred the Russian pop duo t.A.t.U. Thursday from filming their new video on Red Square. Several hundred fans – many dressed in the skimpy schoolgirl uniforms favored by the duo – turned up to act as extras in what was supposed to be the band’s video for the Eurovision song contest. But instead, Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova, both 18, barely emerged from their trailer. “It looks like Russia does not care for t.A.t.U. representing its country,” said their producer,… Read more »

Fornicating Webmaster Sent Packing – Autopilot Off’s Webmaster Fired

A concerned parent’s call alerted Island Record staff to the online antics of Autopilot Off’s webmaster, Josh Stern. Apparently, Mr. Stern was observed on the band’s webcam having sex with a large, stuffed SpongeBob doll. Autopilot Off entered the studio last month to record their major record debut for Island Records with producer Greig Nori. To help bring their fans into the process, the band set up a webcam where visitors could watch the band members recording the new album, playing video games, or just lounging around. Last week, a parent came across Autopilot Off’s web site and observed the… Read more »

Tatu Courts Controversy With Racy Image

Clad in skimpy tank tops, teenage pop stars Lena and Yulia giggle and clasp hands on a Russian television talk show as their hit music video is played for a studio audience. The camera pans over the audience, lingering on a Russian Orthodox priest who grimaces and crosses himself when the video shows the girls kissing. The pop duo Tatu – Russian slang for “This girl (loves) that girl” – has long been causing a sensation at home. But now that the teenagers are also climbing charts around the world, their scanty schoolgirl uniforms, flirtations with lesbianism and in-your-face sexuality… Read more »

Hollywood, Silicon Valley Spar On Piracy

Hollywood and Silicon Valley carried their battle over Internet piracy to Capitol Hill on Thursday, debating the need for technology to prevent the illegal trading of movies and television shows online. The entertainment industry told lawmakers that without copy protection the threat of extensive piracy will force the industry to move its best programming to pay services such as cable and satellite TV. “Over-the-air television as we know it today will be a thing of the past,” said Fritz Attaway, an executive vice president with the Motion Picture Association of America. He testified before the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on… Read more »
