Mandy Moore To Serve As National Honorary Chairperson Of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's School & Youth Campaign


Multi-Platinum Artist Mandy Moore, whose third album, “Mandy Moore,” was recently released and features the single, “In My Pocket,” will serve as the 2001 national honorary chairperson of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s School & Youth Campaign. The School & Youth Campaign includes programs such as Pasta For Pennies, Pennies For Patients and Hop For Leukemia. School & Youth programs nationally rank second in the amount of money raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Yoko Ono Yanks Painting Of John Lennon From School Auction


John Lennon asked his fans to “imagine no possessions,” but his widow appears to be claiming exclusive ownership of the ex-Beatle’s very image. Yoko Ono’s lawyers recently sent a letter to British artist Joanne Shaw demanding that she not sell prints of a photo-realist painting she’s created of Lennon, according to Alan Black, the artist’s business manager. “They told us no one can sell a picture of John Lennon without Yoko Ono’s permission,” Black said. “It’s OK to draw a picture of John Lennon, but don’t try to sell it.” A lawyer and a spokesperson for Ono did not return… Read more »

Durst Says Time Is Right For His Movie About School Outcast


Fred Durst says he can help explain the violence plaguing America’s schools with his upcoming filmmaking debut, “Runts,” about a high school outcast. “Crazy things are happening that don’t need to be happening, and people are retaliating in the wrong way,” the Limp Bizkit frontman said. “This movie needs to happen now.” But the film is still far from hitting theaters. Durst said if a threatened actors strike hits Hollywood this summer, production will not begin until the strike is over.
