Does hip-hop speak to Pepsi’s “new generation”? Well, it depends on who you ask. Last week, Fox News Channel’s conservative ranter Bill O’Reilly denounced the soda giant for choosing Ludacris to appear in Pepsi ads, calling him a “thug rapper” who “espouses violence, intoxication, and degrading conduct toward women.” Just one day later, Pepsi announced that it was dropping Luda as its spokesperson and apologizing to anyone who was offended by its association with him. This move came despite Pepsi’s own research which had found that teens ranked the soda’s hip-hop spokesperson as popular as any celebrity associated with the… Read more »
Papa Roach aren’t about to let touring get in the way of making a new album. So for this summer’s Ozzfest, the Northern California quartet has outfitted a spare bus with enough recording equipment to lay down rough tracks. “It’s a great opportunity to write music, because you’re in a pretty stimulating environment,” says frontman Coby Dick. “There is pressure to write a good second record, but we’re not trying to rush it.” Dick describes the songs written so far as “definitely bangin’ and groovin’,” and he says they explore serious themes without rehashing past hits such as “Last Resort”… Read more »

It’s the most wonderful time of year once more. Eurovision is back, and it continues to get bigger and more prominent worldwide. Though it is known as the institution that turned ABBA into superstars and showcases the wildest and weirdest creations that Europe has to offer, there is still room for some rock ‘n’ roll in the ranks. Over the years, pop has been the predominant genre in which countries project their entries. Though guitars have been making their way slowly but surely, they sometimes take the whole competition by storm. From masked monsters and nu-metal stalwarts to glam-rock superstars,… Read more »
“Bring Me To Life” has officially cracked into the Spotify Billions Club. The iconic track from Evanescence off of their debut album, Fallen, is still a standout for new and seasoned fans 20 years after its initial release. In 2023, the band celebrated their two-decade milestone with a deluxe vinyl and CD reissue. Demos from their popular tracks were included on the re-release, including a 2002 version of “Bring Me To Life.” This version doesn’t include the male vocalist feature from Paul McCoy of 12 Stones, as it does on the radio release and final album single. It’s more industrial… Read more »

The video sees lead vocalist Courtney LaPlante in a mirrored bodysuit and glitter-strewn hair walking through a dark warehouse, but still shimmering when hitting small rays of light. Check out the full music video for “Ultraviolet” below. This isn’t the only new visualizer Spiritbox fans have to look forward to, as this… Read more »
