Caffeine-Powered Finger Eleven Mellow Out For 'One Thing'

Sometimes your big break comes easier than you imagined it would. Just ask the members of Finger Eleven. After six years, the Canadian quintet is finally getting its just desserts with “One Thing,” the second single from the band’s self-titled third album. While predecessor “Good Times,” a quick-tempo confrontational rocker, didn’t make much of an impact, “One Thing” is a gentle acoustic ballad that arrived with surprisingly little effort. “It came out pretty easily,” singer Scott Anderson said. “It’s the result of [guitarist] James [Black] and I going to a cottage with an acoustic guitar to try to finish up… Read more »

Music Award Madness

Beyoncé Knowles, multiplatinum sweetheart of the music award show circuit this year, was exhausted. She’d just appeared on the Vibe Awards and breathlessly arrived across town just in time to change clothes and take bows at the VH1 Awards. “Too many,” she said as she leaned against a wall backstage. Bad planning by VH1 and Vibe? Not really, there were four award shows that week including the American Music Awards and they were bound to butt heads somewhere. With television networks relentlessly reaching for younger viewers, an unprecedented 26 music award shows are now on cable and network TV. “There’s… Read more »

Osbourne Marks 35 Years in Biz

Ozzy Osbourne has been many things throughout his multi-platinum career: lead singer of Black Sabbath, successful solo star and a veteran touring artist. But as Ozzy marks the 35th anniversary of his career, there is no doubt that his starring part in MTV reality series “The Osbournes” ushered in a most unlikely role for him: that of mainstream pop-culture icon. Much has already been said about Ozzy and his family in the saturation media coverage that followed the success of “The Osbournes,” which documents the lives of Ozzy; his wife/manager, Sharon; and two of their children, Kelly and Jack (the… Read more »

The Prince of Darkness is opening up about his dark past. In a candid interview appearing Monday in London’s Daily Mirror, Ozzy Osbourne revealed that he was molested as an 11-year-old schoolboy while growing up in the working-class city of Birmingham, England. “I was sexually abused when I was a kid,” the heavy-metal icon told the Mirror. “Two boys used to wait for me to come after school. Then they would f-k around with me. They didn’t f-k me, but they messed around with me. “They would force me to drop my pants and all that s-t. They felt me… Read more »

Kid Rock, Anderson Play Coy at Music Show

Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson played coy when asked if they’re back together. “What? Kid Rock, 32, performed on Sunday night’s American Music Awards. Holding a lit cigarette and a beverage in a plastic cup, Kid Rock said he and Anderson were having a post-show bash. “Good company makes a good party,” he said, nodding toward Anderson. The Cougars Pounces "Nice Nice"

The Cougars have released their latest album “Nice Nice!”. Although a different sound for Go Kart Records, The Cougars’ music and live show blew them away so much that the label was determined to work with them. “If you like Rocket From The Crypt, but want something a bit harder, “Nice Nice,” will surely be your new favorite CD”. People only say “rock ‘n’ roll is dead” to sell records. That way a label, PR hack or jaded journalist can proclaim some band “rock’s salvation.” It’s a load of crap. Even in these harrowing times dominated by nu metal, vapid… Read more »
