The Cougars have released their latest album “Nice Nice!”. Although a different sound for Go Kart Records, The Cougars’ music and live show blew them away so much that the label was determined to work with them. “If you like Rocket From The Crypt, but want something a bit harder, “Nice Nice,” will surely be your new favorite CD”.
People only say “rock ‘n’ roll is dead” to sell records. That way a label, PR hack or jaded journalist can proclaim some band “rock’s salvation.” It’s a load of crap. Even in these harrowing times dominated by nu metal, vapid teen pop and cookie-cutter pop-punk, we must continue to believe in the power of rock.
Cougars believe. They know that rock never went anywhere, even though culturally obtuse writers and bottom-line-watching label presidents have decided it’s back. Back from where? Down here, below their archaic radar, rock thrives. Each Cougars show is a testament to its vitality.
Cougars have graced the stage of many respected venues such as the Empty Bottle, Metro, New York’s Knitting Factory, and countless other rooms across the Midwest. Along the way, they’ve played with the likes of Oxes, Living Things, Arab On Radar, and now have dates booked with The Supersuckers Via the support and reach of Chicago based Flower Booking, relentless touring is in full effect.
