What was supposed to be a peaceful, private gathering of the West Coast hip-hop community on Thursday turned into a heated four-hour open-mic assembly dominated by two very different sermons: one from Minister Louis Farrakhan and one from Death Row Records founder Marion “Suge” Knight. R&B songbird Toni Braxton gave birth to Denim Cole Braxton Lewis on Sunday (December 2) in Atlanta. The baby boy weighed in at five pounds, 12 ounces. The child was the first for Braxton and her husband, keyboardist Keri Lewis of Mint Condition. Braxton’s spokesman David Brokaw told AP, “Mom and baby are doing fine.” Braxton and Lewis married in Atlanta in April at a wedding attended by some 250 guests, including musicians Monica, Usher, Mack 10, Donell Jones, and T-Boz and Chilli of TLC.
