A lawyer representing 16 plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed in the wake of the Station nightclub fire that killed 99 people in February has dropped Great White from his list of defendants. Celebrity has cancelled their remaining dates on the Hopesfall/Every Time I Die tour as a result of injuries sustained during an altercation at last night’s (4/29) show at The Junction in Salt Lake City. During headliner Hopesfall’s set, members of Celebrity tried to calm a group of 30-40 audience members that were beating up kids in the crowd all evening unchecked by security. After having words with the group, bassist, Jesse Fine, was ambushed by several people as he turned around to walk away. Sum 41 has finished its most recent headline dates, and is now rehearsing its performance for MTVicon Metallica, which takes place in Los Angeles Saturday (May 3). Arista recording artist Wakefield hit the road opening for All-American Rejects starting May 4th in Portland, Oregon. Two days later on May 6th, Wakefield’s debut album, American Made, will officially arrive in stores, it was announced today by Antonio “L.A.” Reid, President and CEO, Arista Records. The official announcement for the Aerosmith/Kiss summer tour will be made Friday (April 18). The tour is expected to begin on August 2 in Hartford, Connecticut, and will run until at least October 12 in Auburn, Washington. Ticket on-sale information will be announced Friday, as well. It’s unknown whether Aerosmith and Kiss will alternate closing the shows, or if one band will go on last every night. Saliva will be the opening act for the tour. Sheryl Crow, an activist for recording artists’ rights, brought her own message against a possible war with Iraq to Monday night’s American Music Awards. Crow accepted her award for pop-rock female artist wearing a white T-shirt emblazoned with the message “war is not the answer” in black sequins.
