A new document leaked Tuesday (December 9) reveals that Michael Jackson was investigated on sexual abuse allegations in February and that investigators found those charges to be “unfounded.” A memo from the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services, dated November 26 and leaked on the Smoking Gun Web site, says a Los Angeles Unified School District official called the agency’s child-abuse hotline soon after the airing of “Living With Michael Jackson” on February 6. Arista recording artist P!nk is in the final stages of completing her hotly expected third album, entitled TRY THIS – in stores November 11th, it was announced today by Antonio “L.A.” Reid, president and CEO, Arista Records. The first single (and opening track) on TRY THIS will be “Trouble,” co-written by P!nk with Tim Armstrong (of alt-rock heroes Rancid), who also produced the track. Paul McCartney was involved in a scuffle Friday when a photographer tried to take his picture near the site of illusionist David Blaine’s latest stunt. McCartney spokesman Geoff Baker said the former Beatle fired him when he learned that Baker had informed the photographer that McCartney would be visiting the site on the River Thames. Blaine is trying to live there without food for 44 days while suspended from a crane in a plastic box. Baker later said he’d been reinstated, and described reports of a “fracas” as exaggerated. Payable on Death are in the midst of a resurrection. There’s no question that P.O.D. sound different without original guitarist Marcos Curiel. His replacement, Jason Truby, plays a more rigid and precise style of guitar, informed by bands like Metallica and Helmet, while Curiel’s technique was loose and sweeping, influenced by Carlos Santana as much as by Korn. The 1965 Sunburst Fender Stratocaster was billed as the highlight of a “Rock Legend” sale, with the auctioneers hoping to achieve a sale price of up to 150,000 pounds.
