RIAA Forms Compliance Task Force


RIAA and NARM will seek to institute revised voluntary restrictions in response to FTC criticism that the industry markets inappropriate materials to kids The Recording Industry Association of America has announced plans to form a task force to investigate ways to answer criticisms levied in the Federal Trade Commission’s May 1 report that accused the music industry of marketing to children products it labeled as explicit. Aerosmith To Play With Kid Rock At Hall Of Fame Ceremony


When Kid Rock inducts never-say-die rockers Aerosmith into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday, “Sweet Emotion” will be doubly apt in describing the scenario. Not only are Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer elated to be receiving such an honor, the group will perform its 1975 single with the rap-rocker at the induction ceremony, Perry, a self-confessed Rock-head, said Friday (March 16). Guns N' Roses To Play London


Guns N’ Roses will play the UK for the first time since their shows at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 1993. Tickets go on sale Friday (March 2). A source close to the band hinted the show will not be part of an extensive UK tour, although an extra date at the Docklands has not been ruled out. The band’s long-awaited new album, ‘Chinese Democracy’, is expected in June to coincide with the shows.
