As a pop star protest against “indentured servitude” by penny pinching record companies grew to near-deafening decibel levels on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s Grammy Awards, the music industry roared back. A schizophrenic woman who stole mail from the home of soccer star David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria Beckham was ordered Monday to be detained indefinitely in a psychiatric hospital. Chinyelu Mary Obue pleaded guilty in November to stealing mail last July from the married couple’s home in Alderley Edge, northwestern England. Obue, 38, took a taxi 230 miles from her home in Edinburgh, Scotland to the luxury apartment building where the Beckhams live. The mystery surrounding former Beatle George Harrison’s death certificate has been solved-and it appears he really did die at Paul McCartney’s house. Sort of. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said Tuesday that friends of the late guitarist have corrected Harrison’s death certificate, after the first version listed a fake address as the place where he died. As it turns out, Harrison died at a Hollywood Hills mansion once leased by McCartney. Olivia Harrison, widow of the late George Harrison, has sued her former brother-in-law in regards to some Harrison memorabilia stolen from a home the family used to own in Los Angeles. Harrison filed the suit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (January 11) against her sister Linda Arias’s ex-husband Carl Roles and his current wife Carol Roles, accusing the couple of wrongfully possessing, selling, and profiting from the material, which is described as “household and personal items of sentimental value.” The suit asks for return of the property, unspecified damages (including interest), and attorney’s fees and other costs.
