Green Day Stuns At CFL Championship Grey Cup Halftime Show


This weekend, Green Day played the greatest halftime show of the year, and no, it wasn’t at an American football game. The “Basket Case” artists headed to Hamilton, Ontario to play during the Canadian Football League (CFL) championship game, otherwise known as the Grey Cup. Live Nation, Maroon 5 Ink for the Long Run


Live Nation is now in the live Maroon 5 business. And not just for one tour. Billboard has learned that the promoter has not only cut a deal to produce rock act Maroon 5’s 28-city fall arena tour, but both parties have also committed to a full-blown Live Nation amphitheater tour for summer 2008. Maroon 5 will play at least 60 shows under the Live Nation banner by the end of next year. Punk Veteran Gurewitz Succeeds by Not Selling Out


Around the time Brett Gurewitz was launching Epitaph Records in 1981, his father was lecturing him to take guitar lessons. The Bad Religion guitarist and punk-rock entrepreneur never sat down for courses with a guitar instructor, although he did go to school to learn to be a recording engineer. Download Deals Play Music Videos


Los Angeles – Fans will be able to build libraries of their favorite music videos because of deals set to be announced Wednesday (March 16) involving digital entertainment companies CinemaNow and MediaPass Network. CinemaNow announced agreements with Warner Music Group, Epitaph Records and TVT Records to sell music videos on a download-to-own basis. This marks the first time music videos will be made available specifically for Microsoft’s Windows Mobile-based secure devices, a category that includes Portable Media Centers, Pocket PCs and Smartphones from many different manufacturers.
