EMI announces two appointments for Music unit


EMI Group Plc, which ousted its two top music executives last week after issuing a profit warning, announced on Thursday two key appointments to its EMI Music management team. JF Cecillon will become chairman and chief executive of the newly established EMI Music International unit which will focus on EMI’s recorded music business outside the UK and North America. Cecillon, who was previously in charge of EMI Music for continental Europe, will now oversee Asia, Latin America and Australia and New Zealand. U2 Prepare For Vertigo Tour In The Great White North


U2 may have disappointed Canadians when they only announced one stop here for their Vertigo tour, but the band love our country enough to set up camp here a month before the tour begins. The Canadian Press reports U2 are taking over Vancouver’s GM Place for the next month to rehearse for the tour. There’s been no official announcement from ClearChannel Entertainment – the tour’s promoter – if the band will be in Vancouver. Robert Jamieson, president and CEO of BMG North America, yesterday announced key appointments to his management team as part of an overall realignment of BMG’s North America businesses. The new leadership will oversee BMG North America’s record labels as the company creates a more responsive and profitable organization with a sharp focus on music and artist development. Fame On Fire Covers “Dear Maria, Count Me In” For Hopeless Records 30th Anniversary


In honor of Hopeless Records turning 30, Fame On Fire has covered All Time Low’s “Dear Maria, Count Me In” for the label’s Hopelessly Devoted To You compilation album. The song originally appeared on  All Time Low’s 2007 LP So Wrong, It’s Right.
