On hand Monday for the premiere of “The Sweetest Thing” in New York, Bass said he’s trying to maximize his downtime during ‘NSYNC’s current tour to fit in additional medical tests in the U.S. before he heads to Russia yet again to see if he can qualify for a fall mission aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket. “I’m still testing to see if I can… Read more »

After hanging out and watching the group play for awhile, *NSYNC’s J.C. Chasez delighted the packed club by finally accepting an invitation to hop onstage and did some impromptu verses on the Brothers… Read more »

'NSYNC's Joey Fatone – The Next Fred Durst?

While his ‘NSYNC-mate Lance Bass is making waves in outer space, Joey Fatone – like Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst – just wants to direct. Already a veteran in front of the camera, Fatone recently filmed a video for Latin music star Luis Fonsi in Florida, where the two were high-school friends and members of an a cappella pop group called Big Guys. The clip is for Fonsi’s “Secret,” the lead single from his first English-language album, Fight the Feeling, due July 2. In the video, Fonsi plays the secret lover of a female celebrity (who looks strikingly similar to… Read more »

'NSync star goes to Russia for space tests

Just last month, the 22-year-old heartthrob announced his intention to take a ride on a Russian Soyuz capsule to the international Alpha station – following in the footsteps of California millionaire Dennis Tito, who became the first paying space passenger last April, and South African Internet tycoon Mark Shuttlesworth, who is due to fly next month. On Thursday, less than 24 hours after ‘NSync’s Dallas concert, Bass was on his way to Moscow for “an intensive weekend of medical examinations” at the Institute of Biomedical Problems, said Jeff Lenorovitz, a spokesman for Amsterdam-based MirCorp. When Joey Fatone needed a break from ‘NSYNC, he decided a wedding would be nice. Nah, the singer didn’t tie the knot – he took on a role in the independent film “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” which hits theaters April 14. “Obviously [‘NSYNC] can get old or tiring after a while and you’re like, ‘I want little bit of a change,’ ” Fatone said at a screening of the movie last week. “[So you] go do a movie. Be a character. Be nutty. Be silly. Whatever the case may be. And then you’re like, ‘OK, well, now I can… Read more »

'NSYNC Tour Opener: It's The Justin And JC Show!

Lance Bass may not get to space as quickly as he’d like, but he shouldn’t worry; his band’s already in the stratosphere, and they didn’t even have to leave Portland to prove it. ‘NSYNC’s Celebrity tour kicked off Sunday at the city’s Rose Garden arena, and glitter-gelled eyelids twinkled in the night as thousands lined up for entrance, though new security measures (full bag check, metal detector wands and pocket-emptying for all) slowed things down considerably, and made not a few young girls cry, as they were forced to leave all posters, flowers and other small gifts for the boys… Read more »
