Korn's 'Untouchables' Delayed Until June 11, 'Here To Stay' Due This Month

Korn has once again delayed the release of its forthcoming album, Untouchables. It will now be in stores June 11, rather than May 14. The band will still release the first single from the album, “Here To Stay,” later this month, and a companion video was recently shot in Los Angeles. There’s also no word if the delay will cost the band even more money. Bassist Fieldy revealed the album was quite costly. “We spent a lot of time on it, and money. We’re up to like three-and-a-half million on it now, which is ridiculous for a record.” Korn has… Read more »

Linkin Park's Bennington Praises Korn Singer's 'Damned' Lyrics

Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington recorded vocals for “System,” a song written by Jonathan Davis and Richard Gibbs for the movie Queen Of The Damned. The song was originally sung by Davis for the main character Lestat. The Korn singer’s version is still in the movie, but was not included on the soundtrack, due to Davis’s contract with Epic Records. Bennington replaced Davis’s vocals on the soundtrack and said he paid a lot of attention to Davis’s lyrics. “One of the things I noticed when I was listening to the versions that he had sang over was the lyrical content… Read more »

Beck, Vedder In; Elton, Ozzy, Korn Out Of RAC Concerts

Beck, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, and Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness have been added to an already impressive list of top-shelf acts that will perform in Los Angeles on February 26 to help raise funds for the Recording Artists Coalition (RAC). However, LAUNCH has learned that Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, and Rob Zombie are no longer participating in the potentially historic night of music. Beck, Vedder, and Ness will co-headline a show at the Wiltern Theater. Playing elsewhere on the same night, for the same cause, will be the Eagles, Billy Joel, Sheryl Crow, and Stevie Nicks at the… Read more »

Korn Singer "Damned"

Korn’s Jonathan Davis has co-written the score for the film adaptation of Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned, due out February 22nd. Collaborating with Oingo Boingo keyboardist Richard Gibbs, Davis composed the score for a ninety-two-piece orchestra and penned five songs for the soundtrack. Among them is one particularly poignant track: a tune with lyrics by Rashad Haughton, brother of the late singer-actress Aaliyah, who portrays the film’s title character. Davis also provides the vampire Lestat’s singing voice. “I’m not the happiest guy in the world,” he says. “So it was really easy to play this character. I’m down with… Read more »

Korn's Davis Uses Stunt Double For Vampire Movie Soundtrack

Jonathan Davis co-wrote and recorded five songs for the upcoming vampire flick “Queen of the Damned,” but don’t expect to hear the Korn singer’s recognizable growl on the film’s soundtrack. Because Davis’ record label contract prohibits his voice from appearing on the disc, which will be released around the same time as the next Korn album, he has recruited and trained veteran hard rock singer Jeff Scott Soto to record his parts, according to a Warner Bros. spokesperson for the movie. Soto recently signed a solo record deal after recording some of the music in “Rock Star.” Davis and composer… Read more »
