Around the time Brett Gurewitz was launching Epitaph Records in 1981, his father was lecturing him to take guitar lessons. The Bad Religion guitarist and punk-rock entrepreneur never sat down for courses with a guitar instructor, although he did go to school to learn to be a recording engineer. Arista recording artist P!nk is in the final stages of completing her hotly expected third album, entitled TRY THIS – in stores November 11th, it was announced today by Antonio “L.A.” Reid, president and CEO, Arista Records. The first single (and opening track) on TRY THIS will be “Trouble,” co-written by P!nk with Tim Armstrong (of alt-rock heroes Rancid), who also produced the track. After toughening up her sound on 2002’s multi-million-copy-selling Missundaztood, Pink will continue to move further from R&B and closer to rock & roll on her third album, Try This, due November 11th. The first single, “Trouble,” will likely make its way to radio next month, and Pink has already shot a video for the song. Missundaztood found Pink collaborating extensively with former 4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry, who has returned to co-write tracks for Try This. The Fight (from Dudley in the West Midlands) are back in the UK after touring the USA since January, to support US punk band ‘Rancid’. The Fight met up with Rancid’s lead singer Tim Armstrong whilst performing the Californian leg of the Vans Warped Tour, where he asked them to support Rancid on their tour of the UK. They will be playing major venues throughout England, Scotland and Ireland, many of which are already sold out. Details on Pink’s upcoming album have been hard to come by this summer – until now. Due in stores on November 11, the singer’s album now has a tentative title, Try This.
