Bandmates Sue Osbournes

A trial date of Feb. 18 has been set for the lawsuit brought by Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake against Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne over the deletion of their contributions to the albums “Blizzard of Ozz” and “Diary of a Madman.” Epic Records reissued last month altered versions of the two Osbourne albums with the bassist and drummer’s parts replaced by new recordings, thereby eliminating claims Daisley and Kerslake would have on mechanical royalties. Daisley wrote all the lyrics and co-wrote the music for “Blizzard of Ozz” and “Diary of a Madman.” The current suit was filed in August 1998… Read more »

Producer Sues Over 'Osbournes' Idea

A producer has sued Ozzy Osbourne and the rock musician’s wife, claiming the couple stole the idea for their hit MTV reality series “The Osbournes” from him. Plaintiff Gary Binkow said he met on several occasions with the couple and executives from Miramax TV between 1999 and 2000 to discuss “a real-life docu-sitcom” about their family, according to the lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The court papers include what Binkow said was a copy of his original treatment of the proposed series from January 2000, registered with the Writers Guild of America, The Hollywood Reporter reported Friday.… Read more »

Osbournes Wreak Havoc On Japan In Budokan DVD Extras

Even if he doesn’t ever say, “This is the first song off our new album” in concert, believe it or not, Ozzy Osbourne still has something in common with Robin Zander. Like Zander’s Cheap Trick before him, Osbourne recorded his performance at Tokyo’s Budokan Arena and will title the resulting live LP Live at the Budokan (though Cheap Trick’s legendary 1979 release was titled Live at Budokan, for those scoring at home). The 13-track album, boosted with bonus CD-ROM video footage, is due June 25, according to Osbourne’s Web site. A home video, issued on both VHS and DVD formats,… Read more »

The first family of metal turned reality TV darlings the Osbournes hit midtown Manhattan to unveil a new album Wednesday and conjured up the requisite amount of vulgarity and bickering. The compilation, due June 11, runs through more mood changes than your average Osbournes holiday dinner, slamming tracks from System of a Down, the Kinks and Ozzy himself against… Read more »

Ozzy And Family Outraged By Ted Nugent's 'Osbournes' Comments

Ozzy Osbourne and his family are outraged by Ted Nugent’s criticism of The Osbournes TV show. “I think it’s an indictment to the soullessness of modern man that we get a kick out of witnessing a magnificent creature reduced to a blithering hopeless idiot,” Nugent was quoted as saying in the New York Post’s Food section. The quote appeared in an article published Wednesday (May 15) on Nugent’s new book Kill It & Grill It: A Guide To Preparing Wild Game And Fish. LAUNCH caught up with the Osbournes at a Wednesday (May 15) press conference to announce the June… Read more »
