Collarbone, Not Spirit, Broken As Jewel Resumes Tour Early


Her collarbone may be broken, but her spirit seems barely bruised, given Jewel’s plans to resume touring earlier than expected. She’ll return to the stage Monday for shows that looked as though they wouldn’t happen after she fell from a horse on April 24, according to an Atlantic Records spokesperson. Doctors had suggested she not perform for at least a month. The singer’s first day back in the saddle, so to speak, will be May 13 in Stuttgart, Germany. Virgin Recommends artist Rufus Wainwright will begin his first-ever headlining tour with a full band beginning on Feb 8 at Boston’s Avalon Ballroom, and ending Mar 9 in San Francisco at the famed Fillmore. The coast-to-coast North American endeavor lies in the wake of the singer/songwriter/keyboardist/guitarist’s critically-hailed album, Poses (Dreamworks), appearing in the #1 spot on Billboard’s Heatseeker’s Chart.
